Hutchinson Community Foundation - Creative Placemaking*

Mission

Hutchinson Community Foundation inspires philanthropy, leadership and collaboration to strengthen Reno County.

Profile

The Creative Placemaking Endowed Field of Interest Fund was created in 2015 as a permanent endowment to strengthen the social, physical, and economic fabric of Reno County communities through arts and culture. Creative placemaking involves cross-sector partnerships that strategically shape the physical and social character of a neighborhood, town, or region around arts and cultural activities; it is a practice that animates public and private spaces, rejuvenates structures and streetscapes, improves local business viability and public safety, and brings diverse people together to celebrate, inspire, and be inspired. As the fund grows, grants will be made to nonprofit organizations supporting: efforts to transform underused spaces into high-quality amenities that promote community health and vitality; beautification and development programs, public art, and festivals that enhance public spaces; the design and implementation of projects that strengthen connections between people and the places they share to advance the comfort, attractiveness, and social, cultural, and economic vitality of public spaces.

To make a planned gift in your will or trust that will support future creative placemaking, please contact Aubrey@hutchcf.org or your own estate planning attorney. Hutchinson Community Foundation provides free, in-house estate planning consultation. If you'd like to make a charitable gift to your community at the end of your life, our estate planning attorney will help you design your estate plan to include charitable gifts in either an existing will or trust or in a new plan.
